Play Online Halloween 2016 – Google Doodle

I still remember stumbling onto that little Halloween surprise on Google back in 2016 and getting totally sucked in. You start as this plucky cat dressed up in wizard robes, wand at the ready, and suddenly the screen fills up with floating ghosts, bats, and all sorts of spooky shapes. It’s delightfully simple—you click or tap on the creatures to zap them with colorful spells—but somehow each wave feels fresh. There’s something satisfying about watching those mischievous phantoms pop and fade in bursts of neon green, purple, or fiery orange.

What really got me hooked was how the game ramps up without ever feeling unfair. The first few rounds let you get your bearings: a couple of cute little ghosts bob around, and you line up your shot. Before you know it, you’re juggling half a dozen specters, trying to chain combos and clear the screen. When pumpkin bombs roll in or a boss ghost shows up with glowing eyes, you feel that rush of excitement—can you keep your cool and blast them all before they overwhelm you?

Even though it was only around for a short while, I felt a twinge of sadness when the next day it wasn’t on the homepage anymore. It was one of those tiny moments of unexpected joy, a bite-sized nod to Halloween that slipped into your routine. Every now and then I find myself wishing it would pop up again, if only for a quick five-minute break to relive that whimsical cat-versus-ghosts action.
