Super Mario Flash! Okay, so this is a fan-made game, which can be hit or miss, but this one totally nails that classic Super Mario Bros. feeling, and you can play it right in your browser. You can choose to play as Mario (obviously) or his brother Luigi, and you’re running and jumping through levels filled with all those familiar enemies, tricky obstacles, and the power-ups we all know and love from back in the day. It’s even got a world map, so you can pick different levels, and get this – it includes a level editor! So you can actually try your hand at creating your own custom Mario stages, how cool is that?
And the gameplay? It stays really true to the original games. The controls feel tight and responsive, and the level designs can be pretty challenging, just like you remember. You’re collecting coins, stomping on Goombas and Koopa Troopas, and trying to find those Super Mushrooms and Fire Flowers to help you on your journey. Plus, just like the classics, they threw in hidden items and secret levels, which adds a lot of depth and makes you want to play levels over again to find everything.
Man, Super Mario Flash is such a nostalgia trip if you grew up playing the original series on Nintendo. And if you’re new to Mario, it’s actually a great way to see what all the fuss was about and experience that classic gameplay. They really did a fantastic job recreating that iconic feel, and when you add in the extra features like the level editor, it really stands out as a top-notch fan-made game, not gonna lie.
