Entering the Battlefield
Awesome Tanks is a top-down action game where the player drives a small tank through enclosed battle areas. Each level contains enemy tanks, defensive weapons, walls, and hidden sections. The player must destroy the hostile forces before moving to the next stage.
The game contains 15 levels. New areas bring stronger enemies and more crowded layouts. Walls can protect the player from direct shots, but they can also hide an enemy waiting on the other side.
Driving and Aiming Separately
Use the W, A, S, and D keys or the arrow keys to move the tank. Aim with the mouse and click to fire. The tank can drive in one direction while its weapon points somewhere else. This allows the player to move away from danger while still shooting at an attacker.
The space bar, Q and E keys, or number keys switch between available weapons. Different weapons work better in different situations. A normal cannon handles basic enemies. Stronger choices help against groups or heavily protected targets.
Players should avoid driving directly into an unknown room. Moving forward a small distance can reveal an enemy without surrounding the tank. Walls also provide useful cover while the weapon reloads.
Spending Coins on Improvements
Destroyed enemies and breakable objects release coins. The money can buy weapons and improve the tank. Four main upgrades increase armour, visibility, turret speed, and movement speed.
Armour helps the tank survive more hits. Visibility reveals a wider part of the dark battlefield. Turret speed makes aiming feel faster. Movement upgrades help the player escape incoming shots.
Secret rooms contain extra bonuses. Searching the edges of a level can reveal breakable walls and hidden spaces. The game also includes achievements and a level editor for creating original battle areas.
Awesome Tanks combines careful exploration with quick shooting. Success does not come from firing without a plan. Players need to use cover, collect coins, choose useful upgrades, and remove every threat from the map.
